On invitation by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) Africa Program and the School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS) African Studies Program, Dr. Oby Ezekwesili will be visiting the Washington based African study center on the 18th of October 2018 to discuss on building a new Nigeria for a new generation.

The CSIS Africa Program is a leading forum based in Washington DC for independent policy research and discussion on emerging issues in Africa.

Governance and politics: Dr. Oby’s candidature is coming at a time Nigeria is in dire need of a leader whose character, competence, and capacity mees the hopes and needs of the Nigerian youth especially those who have been left behind. A New Nigeria is possible with a leader who genuinely cares for the people so as to ensure the dividends of democracy transcends to the poor through true federalism.

Security and conflict: A New Nigeria is possible with a reformer who has the capacity to assemble a team of experts in the Army so as to put an end to the abductions and killings of Nigerian citizens, especially young girls, who want to learn and work to earn a living.

Human development: A New Nigeria is possible with a former minister of education whose reforms in this sector led to the reposition of the Unity Schools in Nigeria. A New Nigeria is possible with an expert who has international experience and technical expertise; has socially engaged and managed the Nigerian people on new media on various topics.

Africa’s changing economic landscape: A New Nigeria is possible with a former minister of mines and steel who ensured that there was open contracting in the economic activities of the mining industry in Nigeria so as to enable equal opportunity for all.
